Jacob Hirsch Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Must be a U. S. citizen and a Louisiana resident. Students must be eligible to enter their sophomore or junior year and have a 3.0 GPA majoring in Mass Communication/ Broadcasting. Scholarship pays $500 per year for two semesters. Requires a 3.0 minimum GPA during Fall semester of scholarship year to retain scholarship.

Mario Mamalakis Endowed Scholarship in Journalism

Must be a U.S. citizen and a Louisiana resident. Students must be eligible to enter their junior or senior year and have a 3.0 GPA majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Print Journalism. Scholarship pays $850 per year for two semesters. Requires a 3.0 minimum GPA to retain scholarship.

Dr. Ronald Rich Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Must be majoring in Mass Communication; be eligible to enter his/her senior year and must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Scholarship is awarded twice a year to a senior for the Fall semester and be a graduating senior in Spring semester. Scholarship pays $500 annually for two semesters; $250 Fall and $250 Spring. Requires a 3.0 GPA during Fall semester of scholarship year to retain scholarship.

Roy D. Murphy Endowed Scholarship

First-time freshman majoring in Communication. High school seniors must be eligible to apply for the UL Lafayette Academic Scholarship. Requires a gpa of 3.0 or higher and pays $800/year.

Speech & Debate Team Scholarships

Two scholarships may be awarded. Applicants must have a 2.5 minimum GPA. Minimum of 3 tournament weekends per semester, National Championships, and 4 events up by October are required. Applicants must attend all team workshops and adhere to all university guidelines/AFA code of conduct/ Team Handbook rules. Scholarship is awarded in the Freshman year. T. Michael Maher Distinguished Leader Award

Applicants must have a 2.5 minimum GPA. Minimum of 3 tournament weekends per semester, National Championships, and 4 events up by October are required. Applicants must attend all team workshops and adhere to all university guidelines/AFA code of conduct/ Team Handbook rules. Applicants must exhibit leadership qualities and advanced service to the UL Speech and Debate Team and the forensics community. Ory. G. Poret Public Relations Scholarship

Juniors and Seniors in Public Relations. Applicants must be US Citizens and Lousiana residents. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.0 or higher and pays $500/year.

Bernard Curet Journalism Endowed Scholarship

Applicants must be undergraduate students in journalism. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.0 or higher and pays $250/year

Dr. Jung-Sook Lee Memorial Endowed Scholarship

International graduate students only. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.5 or higher and pays $600/year.

Dr. Robert E. Simmons Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Graduate students only. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.5 or higher and pays $800/year

National Association of Black Journalists Scholarship

Undergraduate Journalism students. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.0 or higher and pays $250/year.

Brad Wedlock Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Undergraduate or Graduate students. The scholarship requires a gpa of 3.0 and pays $250/year.
