All students in the journalism concentration must complete all 124 credit hours of courses required in the catalog. That includes communication courses, plus the courses in subjects including English, math, modern languages, the sciences, and history.
You must earn a C or better in all communication (CMCN) courses, ENGL 101, and ENGL 102.
All students must complete an internship during their senior year. As a journalism student, you are responsible for securing your own internship and working the required number of hours (usually 10-15 hours a week).
As a student enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts, you are required to earn an 18-hour minor in addition to the courses required for your major. Six of the 18 hours must be 300- or 400-level courses.
If you are unsure which minor to choose, you should talk to your advisor. You can choose a minor from any college in the University.
